We know what happened

In 2023, the iMindMap servers went dark.

Years of maps — project plans, study notes, creative thinking, business strategy — suddenly locked in files nothing would open. The offered migration meant accepting a subscription, giving up the desktop app you relied on, and losing the organic branch style that made iMindMap feel like genuine thinking. You deserved better than that.

Opens .imx directlyNo export step, no third-party converter, no "save as OPML first."
Nothing lostBranches, structure, notes, links, images and tasks come across.
Original untouchedYour .imx file is read-only — MindBridge never modifies it.

Built for the way Buzan said minds work

Organic branches, not boxes and straight lines.

iMindMap was different — branches that tapered and curved, colours that radiated from the centre, a canvas that felt like thinking. MindBridge continues that tradition: organic curved branches and radiant layouts, built on the same principles Buzan spent his life developing. If you chose iMindMap because you believed in the philosophy, MindBridge is where you belong.

Your whole library

iMindMap — and every other map you have.

If your work is spread across other tools too, MindBridge recovers those as well — all tested on genuine files.

Pricing

The option they took away from you — owning your software.

iMindMap was a one-time purchase: you paid once and owned it. The alternatives replaced that with a subscription. MindBridge brings the one-time licence back.

FAQ

Switching from iMindMap.

Will MindBridge open my old iMindMap files perfectly?

MindBridge reads the .imx format and reconstructs your map's structure, branches, notes, links, images and tasks. Visual effects specific to iMindMap (3D views, hand-drawn style) won't carry across, but your thinking — the branches, the hierarchy, the content — comes through intact. The free preview shows you exactly what was recovered before you pay.

What version of iMindMap does MindBridge support?

.imx files from iMindMap 5 and later (the format introduced in 2013 and used to the final version). If you have older .imm files from iMindMap 4 or earlier, get in touch and we'll do our best to help.

Do I need to pay to open my maps?

No. Opening and previewing your .imx files is free, so you can confirm your library is recoverable. The one-time Recover licence unlocks saving and exporting.

Does MindBridge work offline?

Yes. MindBridge is a desktop app that works fully offline. Your maps stay on your device, never uploaded by default.

Is there a one-time purchase option?

Yes — that's the whole point. The Recover licence (£79 one-time) and Everything (£149 one-time) are lifetime purchases with no subscription.

Which platforms does MindBridge support?

macOS and Windows desktop.
