Private local mind-map recovery
Recover old mind maps trapped in legacy files.
The rescue app for orphaned mind maps. Open and recover files from iMindMap, iThoughts, MindManager, XMind, FreeMind, SimpleMind, OPML and more into clean .bridge files — locally, with nothing lost and your original file never touched. Then keep working.
Built for private notes, research, strategy, planning archives, and discontinued-app rescue.
The problem
Your best thinking should not be locked inside old software.
Years of plans, research, outlines, brainstorming sessions, and client strategy can end up trapped in files from apps you no longer use. MindBridge helps you recover supported work into a modern .bridge workflow so you can review it, reorganise it, and keep building on it.
Free compatibility checker
Find out whether your old mind-map file can be opened before you pay.
Open any supported file and see a full recovery preview right on your own computer — for free. You only pay when you want to save or export the recovered map. No sign-up, no upload, nothing to lose.
Launch honesty: .imx, .itmz, .mmap, .xmind, .smmx, .mm, .opml, .md/.txt and .csv are implemented and tested. Formats still on the roadmap (.isf, .mindnode, .mind) are clearly labelled and never claimed as live.
Format coverage
Supported now — with more legacy formats on the roadmap.
We keep this honest: live imports are separated from priority roadmap formats so customers know exactly what MindBridge can do today.

Do not wait until the old app, old laptop, or old file is gone.
Legacy knowledge has a shelf life. The longer an archive sits untouched, the more likely it is that the software, operating system, license, or context needed to open it disappears.

Important answers before you trust MindBridge with old files.
Does MindBridge upload my files?
No upload by default. MindBridge is designed as a local desktop app. Files stay on your computer unless you explicitly choose a feature that sends data elsewhere.
Are my original files changed?
No. MindBridge treats source files as inputs and saves recovered work separately as .bridge files.
Which formats are supported today?
MindBridge recovers .imx (iMindMap), .itmz (iThoughts), .mmap / .mmat (MindManager), .xmind (XMind), .mm (FreeMind / Freeplane), .smmx (SimpleMind), .opml, Markdown (.md/.txt) and CSV (.csv) — the mind-map formats tested against genuine files — plus its own .bridge / .json. Recovered work saves as .bridge.
Do you support .isf, .mindnode, or .mind?
Not yet — these (Inspiration .isf/.ins, MindNode, MindMeister) are on the recovery roadmap. MindNode and MindMeister can export to OPML or FreeMind, which MindBridge opens today. Join the recovery list to vote for the formats you need most.
Is MindBridge affiliated with other mind-mapping apps?
No affiliation is implied. Product and format names may belong to their respective owners and are referenced only to describe file compatibility or roadmap interest.
